The AAST has been designed for operational Close Protection Officers (CPOs), who wish to enhance their skills. This is also part of our Advanced Close Protection Course.
This will include VIP aviation security and airport protocols, and will be a mix of presentations and practical exercises using commercial aircraft at an international airport.
As part of this course you will also have some flight tuition in a 737 or 747 commercial flight simulator. The flight module of the A.A.S.T. course will be given by experienced European Skybus; Flight instructors. The flight deck team consists of time served senior commercial pilots.
On this course we also conduct; Anti Terrorism Drills (A.T.D.), Cockpit Intrusion Drills (C.I.D.) and Cabin Conflict Management (C.C.M.). To further enhance your skills you will be given tuition on personal take down drills, and handcuff training.
This course includes:
- Aircraft familiarisation including safety procedures
- Walking and car drills to and from the aircraft
- Under pinning knowledge, in the use of airport roads and taxiways
- Contact drill securing the principal
- Cockpit intrusion drills including, cabin conflict management
- Aviation explosive and firearms identification course
Introduction to basic flight training, in a 737 or 747 commercial flight simulator. The modules covered in the simulators will be basic flight, how to disengage and re-engaging the auto pilot, Use of the aircraft transponder and squawk and the use of aircraft communication equipment.
This course will be awarded a BTEC Level 2 element in security operations, on successful completion a certificate will be awarded detailing all modules covered on this course.
